Biography
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Kuneyl is a first Generation College Student dedicated to widening the path to Higher Education. The fourth of six children, Kuneyl was home schooled from P-12th before attending a local community college. After obtaining an Associates in Science, Kuneyl transferred to Texas A&M University where she completed a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, but it was her minor in Religious Studies that inspired a love of scholarship. It was in one of those Religious Studies classes that she met her now husband, Jordan. Kuneyl would later go on to work in Higher Education, but she never forgot her struggles as a transfer student. Kuneyl is now a Masters Student in the Higher Education program at Virginia Tech and hopes to pursue a PhD. Kunely’s research interests included diversity, inclusion ,transfer student success, and degree attainment.
